Why do you wear makeup - TAG

Hello Muggles,

a few days ago the beautiful Megan from Wonderful You  did the "Why do you wear makeup"-TAG and I thought it was interesting, so here we go...

1. When did you begin to love makeup?

This is actually not that easy to answer. When I was about 12 I really loved clear lipgloss - and I wore like the whole content of one lipgloss tupe on my lips every day. xD
With about 14/15 I went through quite a bad "emo" phase (but fortunately it was new to everyone, so I was the only person to look like this... people didn't make fun of me then because they we're probably scared, which would have been a whole different thing if I started 1 / 2 year(s) later xD) and I used to wear red lipstick and a lot of black liner around my eyes... yes, you read right: lipstick around the eyes. This and black liner were actually the only two make-up items I owned. This is embarassing? Why do I even tell you? :'D
Since December 2011 I'm discovering the make up world again and from a very different point. I started to watch Youtube videos and think more about what make up is really about. I'm not super into it but I'm interested and yeah... so long story short: I'm not immensly in love with make up but interested.

2. How do you feel without makeup?

I'm glad to say that I'm fine without makeup! :)

3. What do you like about makeup?

I like the fact that makeup can underline your natural beauty. Most women probably don't wear makeup to do this but to make themselves look totally different - however in my opinion this is not the point.
I also really enjoy makeup as being a form of art. Take the girls from "pixiwoo" for example; they do the greatest things with makeup and this could definitely be considered as art.

4. Three 'Holy Grail' Items:

1) Mascara - the classic.
I think the nice thing about mascara is that it really just underlines or highlights what you've already got. Everyone has lashes but some people (like me -.-) don't like their own lashes to be short, straight and light but a little bit more "out there". What I personally love about mascara is that it always makes you look a little bit more feminine, which I go for because I'm almost a little tomboy otherwise. :D
The one I use at the moment is the ASTOR Volume Artist Modelling Mousse in Waterproof - 800 Black
If you know any black, waterproof drugstore mascara, which gives you lots of volume: let me know, please! :)

2) Lipstick  / Lipbalms
I love red-, berry- and plum-toned lipsticks and tinted lipbalms.
The Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Hibiscus is a perfect "your lips but better" product for me. It just highlights my natural lip colour, which I love, plus it is super nurturing!

3) Brow Pencil
My brows are not very full and defined, so I help along with a eyebrow pencil.
Currently I'm using the Catrice Eye Brow Stylist in 020 Date With Ashton, which is a very affordable pencil in the perfect shade for my eyebrows.
I did a whole eyebrow related post some time ago, which you can check out here .

That was it for the "Why do you wear Makeup" TAG.
If you want to do this TAG on your blog as well, feel free to do so and leave me a comment, so I can read it. :)
However, I would also like to tag some people:

Have a lovely day and see you next time,

Mini Haul!

Hello Muggles,

yesterday I've been to the central part of my city (which is a metropolis! (I hope you can read sarcasm)) and got a few things.

Let's start with the most random thing: I got a clothbrush by H&M, which has a beautiful pattern and colour I think! Because I have a dog, there's literally hair everywhere and I just need to brush my clothes everyday. Otherwise I would look like my dog. ;) I paid 1 € instead of 1,95.

As you can see I also bought a new eye brow pencil and it's the "Eye Brow Stylist" by "Catrice Cosmetics" in 020 Date With Ash-Ton (what a nice name!). I'm going to do a post all about eye brows soon, so you can read what I think about it later. ;) Oh, before I forget: It was a bargain! It's not expensive at all anyway but it was 30 % off additionally.

I'm a little late with that but I bought my first Carmex and it is also my first lip balm in a tin! :) I don't really now why I didn't get one earlier. Nevertheless I like it. I love the fact that it smells like vanilla but on the lips it smells and tastes like peppermint and has that nice feeling I can't describe. :/
This also was 30 % off.

Last thing I got are these pants. I really couldn't take a good picture of it but I think the most important fact is the colour. I wanted aubergine/purple/darkred pants for sooo long but couldn't find any before. I think you call those things "treggins" but I hate that word, so I will continue saying pants. :D As you can imagine, they are very tight and stretchy and the most comfortable pants I ever had! When my boyfriend saw them he looked at me like I was crazy. xD
Well, what else is there to say? They're from H&M and were 14,95 €.

See you next time,

What's in my bag?

Hey everyone,

today I'm going to show you what I found in my backpack to do the "What's in my bag? - TAG". :)

As I said I'm not wearing a handbag but a "Dakine" backpack and it's the same I used as my school bag.

As you can see it's dark grey with silver-grey ornaments on it and it has light blue / turquoise zippers.
I don't think that it is very pretty but it's okay and it was the best I could find. I used a black one with pink and purple flowers and some pink dots on it before and I absolutely loooved it - maybe this is why I'm giving the new one quite a hard time. :(
What I like about the grey one is the inside, which looks like someone painted it with watercolours:

Okay, so there were loads and loads of receipts in there, which I didn't want to take a picture of... :D

Basically that's all what was in there. You can see my boyfriends Nintendo 3DS, which is ultra dirty (I actually own a Nintendo DSi in matte black, which looks far more chic but at the moment I'm using the 3D one), an umbrella (how exciting!), my iPod, which I love, three lip balms (two, which aren't worth talking about and my holy grale the Burt Bee's Tinted Lip Balm in Hibiscus - I did a blog post about it, have you seen it yet?), two hair clips, a sample of wall colours (I actually wanted the lighter one for my living room but my boyfriend and me went for an olive green in the end, which looks good as well) and last but not least my Yoshi purse.

I got this purse about a year ago and I absolutely adore it. I love Yoshi - he has always been my favourite game character and I think he's just super cute. :D You can still get this purse on http://www.emp.de/ I don't know if they do international shipping but I'm quite sure that everyone from the EU can shop there. :)

Well, that's already it. :)  I hope you liked it and I would be happy if you left some comments in the box below. Also check out my older posts - maybe there is something you find interesting. :)

See you next time,
Hermione

Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm (Hibiscus) REVIEW

Hey everyone,

today I'd like to talk a bit about my favourite Lip Balm, which is the Tinted Lip Balm by Burt's Bees

Before I start I want you to know a little of my background in regards to cosmetics: There simply is none! ;)  I'm 21 years old now and I'm just starting to like some tiny bits of Make-Up and Cosmetics. Sounds weird for you... and for me as well. :D What I atually wanted to say is that I only used some Lip Balms you can get in a supermarket while buying vegetables. ;)  Before Burt's Bees I used Lip Balms from "Labello" and "Bebe" and some totally no-name products and I never realized that they didn't help AT ALL!

After seeing some girls talk about Burt's Bees products on Youtube I got curious and bought the Hibsicus Lip Balm. It is quite expensive, I think (7,95 Euro) - BUT it really helps and it looks gorgeous on your lips!
Just to show you the colour and the very nice packaging, I post this picture, which I took from:
http://myrayofbeauty.files.wordpress.com/2011/02/burts-bees-hibiscus-package.jpg because my Lip Balm fell down and doesn't look pretty at all anymore. :(

Okay, let's get serious. As I said I really like the packaging. It's simple but I really love the dark brown combined with the reddish Hibiscus colour.
The smell reminds me of red tea and I really like it as well. :)
The texture is okay. It's very creamy BUT it does this thing with your little wrinkles on the lips, if you know what I mean. ;) Sometimes it just doesn't look that good, especially when your lips are very dry. But I don't mind as long as the lip balm makes them soft again. ;)
The colour itself is beautiful! I was looking for a colour that is slightly darker than my own lip colour and underlines it. And what should I say? Well down you people from Burt's Bees. :D I will show you some pictures of my lips before and after applying the lip balm in some days. ;)
As I said several times now the effect is brilliant! My lips never felt so soft and nice and I'm just convinced by this lip balm.

All in all: I'm in love. ;)  I really recommend the Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm and I'm going to get it in different colour shades as well in the future. ;)

I hope the review was helpful and you had fun. :)

Have a nice day and see you next time,
Hermione
